RIO VERDE MINERALS CORPORATION

Rio Verde Minerals Corporation was a publicly listed company focused on fertilizer exploration and development in Brazil, specifically the Sergipe potash project and several phosphate properties. Rio Verde's strategic plan was to become a leading Brazilian focused fertilizer company. The company aimed to become a leading Brazilian focused fertilizer company and had plans to fast track potash exploration to establish a Canadian National Instrument 43-101 resource estimate. Talon Metals Corp. (TSX: TLO) sold its potash assets in Brazil to Rio Verde in return for shares. Prior to the sale to Rio Verde, Talon had invested $1.8m in the project. In November 2012, Rio Verde was sold for $50m, with Talon shareholders’ portion being $10.2m, rendering an annualized IRR of 198%.
