Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa operates non-profit home improvement retail stores across Ottawa called Habitat ReStores, which sell donated, new and gently-used home furnishings, appliances and other renovation materials at a fraction of the original price. All ReStore proceeds directly support local working Ottawa families to build stability and self-reliance with a new start in a home of their own. Habitat ReStore is a social enterprise – a retailer whose profits make a positive social impact. Profits are donated to Habitat for Humanity organizations in Canada to help build homes for families in need of safe and affordable housing.
