KOP Therapeutics is a Canadian biotech company headquartered in Vancouver, BC. KOP’s mission is to develop a non-toxic, affordable, targeted, immunotherapy-based mRNA drug for cancer therapy. KOP Therapeutics owns the exclusive worldwide license from Thomas Jefferson University (TJU), a nonprofit, renowned academic institution. KOP is focused on the development / validation of its newly discovered Targeted Genomic Messenger Drug involving a cell-based Antisense Oligonucleotide (AON) Cancer Therapy. The therapy is designed to “silence” the cancer gene, critical to cancer cell nourishment, resulting in cancer cell death with negligible side effects. The company is currently working on a technology, termed Antisense Oligonucleotide ("AON") therapy, that targets the process by which the DNA of specific genes is translated into disease-causing proteins in effect silencing the cancer-causing genes, providing medical practitioners with a drug that selectively target cancer cells, while avoiding normal cells, thereby minimizing toxicity. KOP has validated the drug in prostate, breast, brain and ovarian cancer cells, In-Vitro.
