Incorporated in 1987, Jade electric was started by Doug Schmidt in Kelowna after he obtained his Red Seal electrician and FSR certifications in the lower mainland. Over the years Jade electric has completed many commercial and residential projects from Penticton and Kelowna to Vernon and Big White. In 2005 Doug welcomed his son Jordan to the company to start his apprenticeship. An IP electrician since 2009, Jordan obtained his FSR certification in 2012. Doug’s daughter Jayme joined the company in 2007 and in addition to administration and bookkeeping, she is also the main purchaser and primary residential estimator. Although he can still be found around the office working on commercial estimations, Doug officially retired in 2017, with Jayme and Jordan now running the company. Jade Electric provides superior electrical and digital service to the Okanagan Valley including Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon for over 30 years. As a fully licensed electrical contractor, Jade Electric has developed a reputation for quality electrical craftsmanship, while providing a personal touch, reasonable rates, and friendly service.
