Gemstone Cattle Company specializes in commercial and purebred Hereford and Angus cattle. The Gemstone breeding program focuses on producing moderate frame, easy-keeping cows that efficiently convert forage into beef. Their goal is to raise trouble free cattle that are well adapted to their environment. Gemstone Cattle Company was formed in 2014 when they purchased a purebred Red Angus seedstock operation to complement their purebred Hereford business. The company focuses on raising cattle without grain, hormones, and antibiotics, with a focus on forage-fed animals. Gemstone Cattle Company opened a meat shop and restaurant in the Calgary Farmers Market in 2022 and their online sales span the province of Alberta. They are a family owned cattle operation in Gem, Alberta.
