Ekona Power Inc. is a Canadian company developing a novel methane pyrolysis platform that delivers a low-cost and scalable solution for industrial hydrogen production. Their solution converts natural gas into hydrogen and solid carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The technology uses pulsed combustion and high-speed gas dynamics to split natural gas into clean hydrogen and solid carbon, suitable for large-scale industrial applications. Ekona’s solution is deployable wherever there is natural gas infrastructure and is not reliant on CCS infrastructure, clean electricity, or water feedstock. Ekona is also working on solid carbon management, aiming to derive value from solid carbon byproducts by using them in construction materials.
