Empire Canada was launched in 1986 by Jean-Marc Beaudin. After moving to Ville Saint-Laurent and then to Guénette Street, the company currently has fifteen employees, 250 customers and 200 suppliers. Empire Canada became a member of Octo Groupe d'Achat in 2005, a purchasing cooperative providing access to some 400 suppliers across Canada, allowing it to significantly increase its inventory. In 2008, Empire Canada took control of Distribution MJ, a company specializing in heating and ventilation products, diversifying its offering and expanding its customer base. By 2010, Empire Canada had around 30 employees with offices in Ville-Saint-Laurent and Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby, totaling more than 26,000 sq. Ft.
