Research recognizes the importance of seeing yourself in someone else to foster a therapeutic relationship, which is a significant part of one’s journey and healing process. The majority of BIPoC mental health practitioners have the knowledge and experience to address the race-based stress that BIPOC clients experience due to racism, marginalization, and stigmatization.
