Established in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada since 1986, Bell Textron Canada Ltd. is a key player in the global helicopter market. It serves the Department of National Defense CH-146 Griffon fleet (85 A/C) and the Canadian Coast Guard fleet of 15 Bell 429 and 7 Bell 412EPI. The company has a Commercial Centre of Excellence in Mirabel, Quebec, which handles design, manufacturing, and delivery operations, along with a Canada Supply Centre in Calgary, Alberta, distributing spare parts worldwide. Bell Textron Canada has about 1,500 employees. Bell has partnered with the Canadian Armed Forces for over 50 years and proudly supports the largest helicopter fleet in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Bell also supports Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS), Fire & Public Safety, and the Quebec Parapublic Sector. In 1945, Bell sold its first helicopter into Canada, a Bell 47 to Lundberg-Ryan Air Exploration. In 1969 Textron established its Canadian footprint with a new Supply Centre, followed by Bell’s further expansion with Supply Centres in Ottawa and Calgary in the 1970s.
