Beds & Borders is a wholesale nursery located on the North Fork of Long Island. They offer a diverse variety of unusual annuals, artful combinations and perennials. Beds & Borders was founded in 1987 by the late Kathryn Pufahl, who began growing unusual plants. The business has grown to 90,000 square feet of growing space in a computer controlled production facility. Their specialty are annuals and tender perennials, which can be found in garden centers from Vermont to Maryland and are used extensively by the industry's best garden design professionals. Their growing process is conducted in-house, ensuring each plant undergoes careful maintenance. Most of the varieties they grow are cultivated from seed or unrooted cuttings. They facilitate robust root growth by utilizing a substantial soil volume enriched with mycorrhizal fungi and time-release fertilizers. Their Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices employ a comprehensive approach to pest control, significantly minimizing the use of chemicals on their crops while ensuring the health and vitality of their plants.
